Hello

I love sharing tools, strategies, education, and coaching support to make it possible for you to parent with greater ease and joy.

With 15 years' experience teaching in a Montessori elementary classroom, specialized training in ADHD support, and the successful implementation of Positive Discipline at school and in my own home, I am uniquely positioned to offer you effective, compassionate support.

What's my approach?

As my students, classroom parents, and own children will tell you, my interpersonal approach is one of warmth, integrity, humor, and approachability.

I integrate several successful modalities in my work with parents. Together, we'll practice Collaborative Problem Solving and similar positive discipline methods based on the work of Ross Greene and others; you'll explore the Calm & Connected approach to parenting children with ADHD that was developed by Cindy Goldrich; you'll understand human development as observed and articulated by Dr. Maria Montessori. These methods have been proved repeatedly during the last few decades (or century, in Montessori's case!) by peer-reviewed scientific studies, research, and technological advancements in neurology and psychology.

I'll make all of these strategies accessible and clear to you, adapting them for today's challenges and for your family's unique needs.

the Joyful Parent difference

Permissive parenting does not serve the child. Neither does authoritarian parenting. I teach authoritative parenting, which balances high expectations with deep emotional support and skill building. It promotes open communication, active listening, and genuine independence. Instead of resorting to threats and punishment or overt permissiveness, authoritative parents focus on natural and logical consequences while also fostering a deep, authentic connection with their children.

If that sounds too foreign or far-fetched to you, it's not. Anyone can do it.
Yes, anyone.
Dr. Montessori pioneered her work while observing neglected children in the slums of Rome; Dr. Ross Greene developed his positive discipline model while working in juvenile prisons in Maine. What worked for them has been duplicated successfully all over the world ever since. It's been proved by science and by everyday parents like you and me.

This work can literally change the world. It will certainly change your home.
